[Keven POV]

  So, after I see myself, I decide to do the obligatory confirmation of my gender, and yes, it is gone. I wish they brought me some real clothes all I have is a patent gown. I mean it makes sense this room looks like a hospital room, but still. Now that I think about it the trainer said that Espers are here. Did they also change in appearance, from my knowledge of fiction Esper's abilities only usually affect the mind, not the rest of the body? It could be that I'm overthinking it or my perception is warped by media. As I finished that thought I heard some commotion outside followed by what could only be described as someone ughing like a mad scientist. Thankfully it stopped with the sound of a metal pipe, but then the door opened. I see a 6ft tall white man in a suit with bck hair a pipe in one hand and someone in a b coat over his shoulder. She has red hair and is wearing a pair of gsses her eyes are red as well, but I can only see the bottom of them because they are slightly rolled back.

  "H-hello."(Keven)

  I greet him with a little worry in my voice.

  "Good morning Keven I'm sorry I was on my way to get you food, but I had to stop the Doctor here from traumatizing you so soon after waking up"(Trainer)

  I recognized his voice from earlier it was the trainer, but if he didn't want to traumatize me he kind of failed, with the pipe dripping blood. He saw my gaze go to the pipe and quickly tried to expin the weapon straight from a horror movie.

  "This isn't all her blood!"(Trainer)

  "WHAT DOES THAT MEAN!"(Keven)

  "It's pig blood!"(Trainer)

  I look closer at the Doctor and see she isn't bleeding, and take a deep breath to rex. I then ask the next question on my mind

  "Why is there pig blood on the pipe."(Keven)

  "She tried to grab me with it to prevent me from stopping her."(Trainer)

  I tilt my head in confusion at his response. How would you do something like that with blood? Seeing me confused he expined.

  "She can manipute the blood of dead creatures."(Trainer)

  "Ok, but why was she gonna traumatize me."(Keven)

  "How rude, I was going to do no such thing."(Doctor)

  A cheerful voice came from the woman currently being treated like a sack of potatoes.

  "Says the woman cackling like a madman."(Trainer)

  So it was her I thought. As the argument continued my stomach growled. Upon hearing that the doctor freed herself and rushed over to me.

  "Is this the first time you're hungry, is it excruciating like you might die if you don't eat or like you only skipped one meal maybe you got energy fro*CRACK*(Doctor)

  Before I could answer any of her questions the Trainer hit her on the head with the pipe.

  "Is she going to be ok?"(Keven)

  "Yes she used some blood to soften the blow as always."(Trainer)

  "Is she an Esper?"(Keven)

  I asked, but it should have been obvious the first time. In my defense, I was worried about the pipe that looked like a murder weapon.

  "Obviously."(Trainer)

  "Ok before she wakes up to distract us I want some answers."(Keven)

  "Go ahead."(Trainer)

  "Is my family safe?"(Keven)

  "As I stated earlier they are fine, but as you do not know the state of the world I can't expin where they are."(Trainer)

  That is what he said earlier, but the second part had me worried. How is the world? Skipping over two years is gonna be a pain to figure out. Wait I still don't know anyone's name!

  "Ok next what is your name? I feel at a disadvantage with you knowing mine."(Keven)

  "Sorry how rude of me my name is Gale."(Gale)

  "Nice to meet you Gale. My next question is what are the Shifts you mentioned?"(Keven)

  This one was important whatever they were they changed my body and then I was out for two years while some people became Espers.

  "Other than being the cause of the world being altered to the point where animals have become monsters and some humans becoming Esper we don't know."(Gale)

  That answer stunned me. The reason my body and the world changed so much and they don't have an answer. I LOST TWO YEARS OF MY LIFE AND THEY DON'T KNOW!

  "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW?!"(Keven)

  I shout unable to control my anger. I feel blood dripping from my hands I look to see I have cws now. I sm my fist into the nightstand next to the table my so-called cocoon had been on breaking it. My mind confused and angry that I couldn't process my actions.

  "KEVEN PLEASE CALM DOWN!"(Gale)

  before I can do anything else I look around to see myself in a mirror I've grown to about 6'3 and my irises' are now slit like a cat. Suddenly my arms are bound behind my back by red chains I look to see the Doctor is back up.

  "Do you want to continue."(Doctor)

  She says in an ice-cold tone. I just colpse sitting there and start to cry. My body started to revert to the way it was when I woke up. As I let all my frustrations out, the frustration of losing my body, losing time, and not knowing if my family would recognize me that st one hurt the most. How long has it been since I started to cry, as I do the chains disappear and I feel a warm hug from behind me.

  "Shush let it all out."(Doctor)

  with that, I wail louder

  Gale looks around awkwardly unsure what to do. I soon finished and apologized to him.

  "It's ok I'm sure it is a lot to take in and I'm sorry we don't have any answers for you."(Gale)

  He said in a sad voice while looking at me. Thinking on it now, my stress has been so high so of course the next piece of bad news would lead to a meltdown.

  "Ok, I have to know am I an Esper?"(Keven)

  Gale looked worried by my question, so I had an idea of the answer. But I still want to know.

  "We don't know. You have the brainwaves of one, but you have also mutated into a different form."(Gale)

  So it wasn't all bad I still could have Esper abilities, but we have already seen my ability to mutate my body even if it wasn't intentional. As I'm pondering what all that means I get poked by a needle in my arm. I quickly turn to see the Doctor with a vial of my blood.

  "Hehehehe new research material hehehhe."(Doctor)

  "You could ask before you take a blood sample!"(Keven)

  I shout more annoyed than anything.

  "You say something?"(Doctor)

  she asked barely looking away from the sample she took from me. I gave up trying to get to her, it was like she was in her own world.

  "Sorry about her she is always like this when she sees a new project."(Gale)

  "It's fine, but couldn't she do that when I was in the cocoon."(Keven)

  "Actually no. Your cocoon was unable to be penetrated by the needles."(Gale)

  Looking around it seemed the cocoon was gone, but before I could ask about it a noise reverberated through the room

  GRRRR(Keven's stomach)

  "Sorry I haven't had anything to eat in about two years."(Keven)

  "It's fine is there anything you want to eat."(Gale)

  "Pizza is my first choice preferably with a lot of meat on it."(Keven)

  "Ok, but I have to ask, is the meat thing new or did you always have it on your pizza."(Gale)

  "Always, I was a carnivore even before this. Also I still don't have any clothes"(Keven)

  "Sorry with the excitement I forgot to give this to you"(Gale)

  He handed me a bag with some T-shirts and bck pants.

  "When did you get this I didn't see it when you came in earlier?"(Keven)

  "While you were calming down I went to grab some so you wouldn't have to be cooped up in here."(Gale)

  I take the bag and go behind a curtain to change. I finish changing into a red T-shirt and pants now I just need my hair in a ponytail, but that can wait. As we leave Gale calls out to the Doctor.

  "Hey mad scientist your test subject, and I are going to the cafeteria."(Gale)

  She looks up and starts to follow us.

  "This is the perfect opportunity to see how much you can eat!"(Doctor)

  And with that, I follow Gale to the cafeteria.
