Chapter 21: The General's Household
Seishun arrived at Hyoutei's tennis club and started a practice match against them.
The first match is Fujii vs. Hanyu, Shirakawa vs. Rina.
"It seems like it's worth expecting." Yafeng said in a somewhat self-talking tone.
"Is Yafeng really looking forward to it?" Ken asked with a faint smile.
"Yes, this combination is quite dreamy, but, Kenjirou-san, I'm the manager of Rikaidai, aren't you afraid I'll gather information?" Yakaze asked with a wink.
"We're already going to quit, aren't we? Besides, collecting materials is something that every school has people doing. Is it the same whether you collect them today or someone else collects them next time?"
"Hehe, seems like it."
Yin Ben originally had a good grasp of the ball, but it was ruined by Xiao Chun and Yi Shi's sarcastic remarks. Ya Feng laughed with great joy.
The second match is Koharu and Kaido against Ichi and Momoshiro, followed by Kikumaru against Kenjirou.
After Jianye came on stage, he walked up to Yafeng and said, "Yafeng and the two ninjas aren't a couple, are they?"
Yahiko was taken aback and turned around, but immediately recovered. A clever person like Jubei would notice that it's normal. "Yes, we are siblings now."
"Hehe, as expected." Niji smiled brightly.
"Zhou Zhuo is indeed very impressive."
Yah Feng also learned from him and laughed so hard that his eyes were closed, but he found himself unable to see anything, and couldn't help feeling a bit dissatisfied.
Looking at Ya Feng's adorable actions, Er Xi smiled even more radiantly, "Hehe, we're partners, of course I can understand you."
The subsequent matches were all messed up by Xiaochun and Yishi's jokes, but the atmosphere was very happy.
In the afternoon, Qingxue's free activity went, Yafeng and Qian also went with Baishi to visit Osaka Castle.
Looking at Osaka Castle with its rich historical atmosphere, I suddenly thought of Beijing in China, which is also a place where history and modernity blend together.
Looking at the ruined city wall in front of him, Ya Feng asked: "Is this the place where General Sanada Yukimura fought bravely and died gloriously many years ago?"
"Yes, indeed. Yafū should be the legitimate heir of the Sanada family, shouldn't he? He should be a descendant of General Sanada Yukimura (also known as Sanada Nobushige), right?" asked Shirai, gazing at the ruined castle walls before him.
"Yes, I heard from Grandfather that only our branch is the orthodox family of the Sanada clan, and General Sanada Yukimura is one of our ancestors."
"When it comes to the Sanada family, I'm really full of curiosity." said Shirai with a yearning expression.
"Hehe, I'm the same as Zōjirō, I think many people are. About the Tanda family, that old and legendary household." Ken also said.
"Heh, is that so? Unfortunately, I just got back and my memories from before haven't fully recovered yet, so I don't know much about the Tanda family. All I know is that not all descendants of the Tanda family can use the surname Tanda, most branches have changed to other surnames like Kaino, Mochizuki, Yazawa, Nitsu, Kamamoto, and Shino. They are both vassals and branches of the Tanda family, so there aren't many people who actually bear the surname Tanda."
"I see, but the Sanada family is really amazing, aren't they? They're called the General's Family, and they've produced many great generals." said Shirai with a sigh.
"Hehe, yeah, I'm really proud too, as a member of the Sanada family." Yafū's face was full of pride.
"It's truly something to be proud of." Jian said with a humble smile as he patted Yafeng's head.
"There's a shrine ahead that enshrines the spirit of General Sanada Yukimura, would you like to go pay your respects?" asked Shirai, pointing forward.
"Of course I'll go, Jian Ge and Baishi, you guys will accompany me, right?" Yafeng said with a small pout.
"Of course." Jian's mouth corners rose, and Baishi smiled as he looked at Yafeng, whose eyes held a hint of something even he himself hadn't noticed.
In front of the shrine, Yafeng looked at the seniors of the Sanada family being respected by the masses and couldn't help but feel a few more emotions in his heart.
"Yafeng, come and see, General Shinden and Lord Shinden really look alike." Ken pointed to the statue of Sanada Yukimura in the shrine and said to Yafeng.
Yahiko and Shiraki hurried over, and the statue of Sanada Yukimura was as tall and majestic as a real person. The carving and modeling were also very realistic, with a high nose, tightly closed mouth, and dense sword eyebrows that were indeed very similar to Sanada's. The aura of dominance and the cold expression on his face were also identical.
"It's really true, if you didn't know any better, you'd think it was Ryōtarō onii-chan." Yafū said with a half-joking tone.
Just as Ya Feng and the others were chatting and laughing on this side, a person who looked like a resident approached.
"This young lady bears some resemblance to General Shinoda."
"Ah? Me?" Yafeng asked in surprise, pointing at himself.
"Yes, I am the chief priest of this shrine. Seeing that you resemble General Sanada, I thought I'd ask if you have any connection with him." The chief priest explained.
"Hehe, the host has found the right person, this young lady is indeed a direct descendant of the Sanada family, and should be a descendant of General Sanada." Ken replied with a smile.
The abbot was visibly stunned, and it took him a while to regain his composure before saying: "So you're actually the direct descendant of the Sanada family. I'm truly fortunate today to have met a member of the mysterious and low-key Sanada family." He then turned to Yafū with an excited expression and said: "Miss Sanada, I am Holesan Genzaburō, a descendant of Holesan Kozuké. My family has been guarding General Sanada's shrine here for generations."
"Ana-yama Kōsuke, is that Ana-yama Kōsuke of the Ten Braves?" Ken and Shiroishi asked excitedly.
"Yes."
Qian Ye and Baishi looked at Ketsuzan Gensaburō with a face full of admiration, while Ketsuzan Gensaburō looked at Masayoshi with a face full of reverence.
Shirai and Ken continued to pull Anagiri Genshirō to ask about the story of Sanada Ten Braves until sunset.
"Uncle Ketsuzan, I've disturbed you today. This time when I go back, I will definitely tell my grandfather about the Ketsuzan family's affairs." Yafeng said with a serious face.
"Yes, thank you very much, Miss Yafeng." Anzai Genzaburou replied respectfully, and then said to Shiroishi and Gankotsu: "Shiroishi-san, Gankotsu-san, I'll leave Miss Yafeng in your care today."
"Yes, Uncle Ketsuyan, please be at ease." Ken also replied.
After leaving the shrine, the three of them hurried home.
"Hey, it seems like Hakusei and Kenji had a lot of fun today." Yafeng said with a smile.
"Yes, today listening to Hole Mountain Uncle's story about Sanada General and the Ten Braves is really exciting, I truly wish I could have grown up in such an era." Ken also looked like he was yearning for it.
"Indeed, just hearing about such things is enough to get one excited, and if one could experience it personally, even death would be a delightful and thrilling experience, ecstasy."
"Hehe, it seems that Uncle Ketsuzan's story has ignited the passion of Kenyō and Shirakawa as well." Yafū said with a faint smile.
"Yahiko doesn't seem very interested," said Shirishi.
"Hakuseki is quite impressive, although Sanada Yukimura is known as Japan's number one warrior, but as a member of the Sanada family he wasn't particularly outstanding. After all, the Sanadas are a military family and if I remember correctly, the current Sanada family should be descended from Sanada Nobuyuki, Sanada Yukimura's older brother. Speaking of which, wasn't it Sanada Nobuyuki who fought against Sanada Yukimura at Osaka Castle?"
Masamune Date and Masayuki Date's historical evaluations are mostly biased towards Masamune, after all tragic heroes can evoke more resonance from the public. However, in reality, the two brothers' abilities should be roughly equal.
"In our Sanada family, General Sanada Nobushige and General Sanada Yukimura are of equal status, of course, along with many other generals such as Sanada Masayuki. It should be the same in the Sanada Treasure Museum, but it seems that others only remember General Sanada Nobushige of the Sanada family." Yafeng's tone was light yet filled with too much emotion. In fact, she didn't have much feeling for these generals of the Sanada family, but rather was speaking out against a phenomenon that exists across ancient and modern times, and sympathizing with those great figures who were not understood.
