Chapter 21: The Other Side of the Devil
In the quiet room, a faint scent of jasmine wafted through the air. Lin Yuchen sat on the sofa with a bitter face, staring intently at the luxurious carpet on the floor, not daring to lift his head to look at the bed where an almost frantic devil lay.
"Hey, come here!" He said in a commanding tone to the person who was standing there stupidly. Looking at her silly appearance, he was furious! Was he that annoying? She didn't even have the courage to lift her head and look at him.
Lin Yuchen, still immersed in her own world, didn't hear what he said at all. Seeing that she didn't respond, the person on the bed casually grabbed the pillow next to him and ruthlessly smashed it towards Lin Yuchen, who was still dazed, without showing any mercy.
However, her grandfather did not intend to show mercy either. He just wanted to wake her up!
"Ah……!!" The pillow hit the person who was in a daze just right. With his basketball skills, if he didn't hit it, that would be a huge joke. Lin Yuchen, who was slightly awakened by being hit with the pillow, had a face full of anger.
"Hey, what are you doing?! Don't you know that can hurt people?!" Looking at Zhang Luqian who was laughing and rushing towards her, she swallowed back the scolding words.
Damn it! He actually dares to laugh.
"I told you not to call me 'hey'! Please, miss, get it straight! However, I permit you to call me Jian." He commanded like a noble and arrogant king, with an air of childish cuteness on his proud face, and warmth in his eyes that even he himself hadn't discovered.
"I'm also asking you, young master, to get it straight, I'm not just a 'hey'! I have a name!" What an attitude his grandfather has, he's clearly the one who's overstepped, but he still acts like nothing's wrong.
He even dares to think he's a king, giving orders in that tone of voice is exactly what she hates!
"Okay. Lin Yuchen, can you please come and help me up?" How did he end up like this, needing someone to support him just to get out of bed?! If it weren't for her, would he be so pathetic?!
"Why use force when you can just talk about it?!" She really couldn't stand his arrogant attitude, thinking he was the best in the world and could do whatever he wanted.
"It's your own fault for being slow-witted. If I could get up, would I have to use this method to call you over, you idiot?!" He said with a bad tone. What the heck, how did it end up seeming like he was in the wrong?
"I'm too lazy to argue with you." She stormed off, gently lifting up the devil on the bed who was giving her an evil smile. Suddenly, a faint scent of jasmine tea wafted through the air.
She was stunned for a moment, then smiled foolishly. She didn't expect the devil to emit the fragrance of jasmine flowers, unlike other boys who sprayed the scent of Gucci's perfume that made girls infatuated.
"You think I want to?!" Because of his waist injury, he had been stuck at home for the past two days and was almost driven mad.
He didn't bring Vivian here to quarrel with her, it's the harvest season of the orchard now, he just wanted to take her for a walk in the orchard.
"I knew you'd say that!" She supported him out of the room, lightly refuting him.
"You...! You're really getting on my nerves, you're ruining my taste!" He said with a glance, his words not matching his tone.
"It's you who is being overly sensitive." She retorted back without showing any weakness.
"Alright, I don't want to quarrel with you. Let me take you to the orchard instead! Vivian is there too." He lifted his head without looking at her, released the hand he was holding onto, and walked downstairs by himself.
"Are you okay?" She looked at him incredulously, just a moment ago he needed someone to support him...
"It's just a minor injury, let's go! Idiot!" He stood on the stairs and turned around to look at her who was still standing there in a daze. Although he was still hurting, he really wanted to get out and take a walk.
"Oh... okay." She came back to her senses and hastily ran downstairs.
The sunlight outside flickers, and a hint of autumn is subtly revealed in the clear weather.
