Chapter Eleven
The feel of the keyboard is very... nostalgic. But! What's with that screen and system?!
Chen Huaixing didn't say a word for a long time. It's okay, nowadays computers, especially in high school interest classes... being able to type is already good enough. She studied the simplified programming language textbook for half a day and was extremely grateful that she wisely chose a foreign language major.
"Does your family have a computer?" Single Mingming came over and asked, having switched places with Chen Hui after the class was divided.
"No. This flickering screen is going to blind me."
"......" Chen Haosheng is indeed a master of hitting people! "This isn't it, I see you're very familiar with the keyboard."
"Oh, I've learned to type on an English typewriter." Chen Huan almost broke out in a cold sweat. The keyboard is very familiar? Click, almost had a problem. "The keyboard layout is all the same."
Who is familiar with such a "hard" keyboard that is difficult to knock and some keys are in contact? !
Chen Xuan cursed the rapidly advancing technology in her heart, why did it have to develop so fast?! But she still had to focus all her attention and study that simplest programming language seriously. And surprisingly, this stuff was more user-friendly than those algebra questions from summer vacation, at least just by looking at the English sentences you could understand what they were used for. And with relatively simple logic, it was like middle school algebra, couldn't she handle it?!
"Chen Haoteng, are you going on stage?"
Two people sharing one machine, and they're not even afraid of fighting over it! "You go ahead, you use it."
Sat in the back row, pulled the chair a bit further back to avoid the faint smell of stinky socks - oh, the shoe cabinet outside the computer room was nauseating. Chen Haosheng roughly flipped through it once, then carefully read the content of the second and third lessons. This way, he wouldn't look at it again when he got home, first because it wasn't a final exam or college entrance exam, and second because these PCs were too outdated and slow...
"You're not on the computer? Is there a computer at home?" Zuo Zhixuan, oh, transferred after the liberal arts and sciences division, one of the top three in the liberal arts curriculum, also one of the guys who hangs out in the library with her and still owes her an iced red tea, and also Dong Xuemin's middle school classmate in junior high.
"Look at the programming language, familiarize yourself with what to do next. As long as the logical relationship is correct, it will be quick on the machine. If not, then it's a dead loop. So I'll read the book first." Chen Heng surprisingly didn't give an answer that would make one die from anger.
Duan Mingming really likes partnering with Chen Yufei because she doesn't mind and is very considerate of others.
"Don't move!" Chen Huacheng snatched the scalding test tube. She was using her fingernails to touch the glass, so she wouldn't get burned.
"You didn't get scalded, did you?"
"No, just go put some red flower oil on it and don't touch it, you can also pour some cold water." Chen Huan looked at Dan Mingming's reddened palm. "Red flower oil is very useful for minor burns."
"Alright!"
"Be careful when taking the test tubes." The chemistry teacher glanced around and casually reminded everyone - just a little red, but gave that girl a small warning.
Chen Huaixing's chemistry grades were average, sometimes fluctuating up and down by about ten places, but always maintaining a level that wouldn't get her called out by the teacher. Moreover, she had always been punctual and thorough with her homework, never losing any points. In short, it was neither good nor bad.
Moreover, for liberal arts students, chemistry originally just needs to be passable and able to cope with the high school entrance exam.
In the mid-term and final exams of senior high school, Chen Haoteng was able to maintain a ranking in the top ten, with only slight fluctuations up or down that would not cause his parents any worry.
Then came a string of job interviews.
The senior two pre-exam dragged away Chen Huaicheng's energy, fortunately, other students were in the same situation, so she still maintained top ten in the exam and final exam.
It was Guang Mang Xuan who shone brightly, from first to eleventh place, with quite a fluctuation. Even Chen Hua Sheng once ranked ahead of him - that time her Chinese composition and history and politics essays were all well-written. Of course, the class teacher wouldn't bother about Guang Mang Xuan's ups and downs and emotional changes; he hoped everyone would engage in positive competition, and with role models in front, they would continuously make progress. So when other students surpassed Guang Mang Xuan, he was pleased to see it happen.
One summer vacation in high school, Chen Huan didn't even go home for dinner and stayed at the library until it closed. When the evening journal reading room closed, she still couldn't see Zuo Zhixuan's shadow in the self-study classroom, and they only met once during lunch. Everyone came and went hastily.
It seems that the competition for Class 1, High School Year 3 International Liberal Arts will be unprecedentedly fierce. As expected, this class will produce the top two or three liberal arts students in the entire prefecture-level city, with the highest average score and key undergraduate admission rate.
Chen Haosheng knew he was not the material for the top scorer, and his mentality was still very relaxed. Every day's rest time was basically fixed, and there would be no situation of staying up all night.
In the third year of high school, all courses unrelated to the college entrance examination have come to an end, except for physical education classes.
The atmosphere before the mid-term exam was exceptionally tense, but it wasn't a matter of life and death, rather the result of great self-pressure. Everyone knew that although their classmates may not be the absolute best in the province, they were still a force to be reckoned with. The school that Fang Zheng had his heart set on didn't just accept one student, so unless the impossible happened and everyone in the class applied for the same school and major, then the competition was against the whole province, not just their own school.
"Don't think that just because universities are expanding enrollment, you don't have to work as hard as students used to. Good universities, good teachers, and good majors will always be scarce resources!" The new head teacher of the third-year class, who also teaches Chinese, rarely gives speeches after handing out exam papers. "Don't even mention those second-rate schools' so-called 'hot' majors! Our students shouldn't even give them a glance! Those that waste a lot of money and four years to graduate can't even find a job! Even if they have connections or background, and manage to get a good job for the time being, it's not guaranteed they'll be able to keep it!"
Chen Huaicheng thinks that the class teacher must be because of recent events around him, and he is speaking from his heart. After all, times have changed, and today's college students are no longer precious, nor are they assigned jobs after graduation, and even tuition fees are gone, everything has to rely on oneself, rely on family, yeah, it's all about who your parents are. Although the college entrance examination has many drawbacks, it is still the only fair, just, and open way. Now, students who can study abroad for undergraduate studies are extremely rare, and the vast majority of students still have to rely on their college entrance examination scores and reasonable college choices to determine at least ten years of their lives.
Lowering his head again to look at the things that had been handed out, it turned out that under a stack of test papers there were also rankings for each subject and overall scores. The total score here did not include the science subjects or the high school entrance exam subjects.
Thirdly.
The first place is Qi Xiaoli, who was not particularly prominent before. Zuo Zhixuan and she are tied for third place, also the only male student in the top five. The class has 40% male students, with average scores and top students not as good as female students.
In addition, the fifth place was five points away from her own score, while the first place was ten points higher. This is the gap! Chen Huaicheng looked at her weaknesses very seriously. Oh, history has never even been in the top ten, and it's true that she didn't remember the last big question. She really wasn't good at memorizing, but if she put in effort, she could see results. As for English... five points short of a perfect score, four of which were deducted from her composition, no need to add more code. For language and literature, luck played the biggest role for her, otherwise, how else could she have gotten different themes with eight stocks structure...
