Falkner awoke to loud thunder outside a rain storm looking outside the window lighting could be seen. the pack animals. When lightning struck just outside the walls he saw a bustling village people were outside. I didn't see anyone in the whole place but here they were boots. At least a dozen of them could be heard upstairs. something is really wrong here throwing open his door bursting into Farmboy’s room

  “Get up, we're leaving now!” Farmboy jumped out of bed

  “what’s going on?” leaving his room to Nyssa’s room and getting her up

  “get your armor on and get everyone out of bed!” Nyssa grabbed her eye patch and hurried out into the hall going back into his room and gaped his pack and put on his armor and belting on his sword a confused Jezebel came into his room dressed in her leather breeches and shirt came in mace and shield in hand

  “What's this about?”

  “get everyone and I’ll tell you” everyone waited for him bleary eyed and tired

  “Listen” over the sound of the rain footsteps were heard and they were coming down the stairs drawing his sword. He ran downstairs with everyone rushing behind him. Someone was at the desk doing paperwork. How are there’s no candles Nyssa slammed into him causing him to stumble

  “Who are you!?” a raspy voice said it came from the woman? At the desk people came into the room behind them wearing cloaks and one of them had mail. Falkner lit his sword up in flame and gasped. They were all skeletons, with no flesh on their bones and yellow flames for eyes.

  “What are the living doing here?” the one in mail said they rushed outdoors into the rain before they could kill them

  “what’s going on?” Safiya screeched as if anyone had any answers. skeletons were walking in the street and some of them were looking at them with yellow flames running to untie their animals but the knot was wet and it took too long to untie so Falkner sliced it. Aaron and Jezebel did the same with claws and spear running with his moa as some skeletons were walking towards them thunder boomed where are we going? They can outlast us. I'm sure they started to run after us. We need to hide but where!?

  After running towards the southern gate getting soaked. As skeletons began to run after us spears in hand pushing open the gate as guards ran down the stairs on the wooden wall throwing fire to slow them down and causing them to trip. As they ran out of the gate.

  “We can’t outrun them! We have to fight” William said turning around spear out drawing his sword as everyone drew their weapons as two dozen skeletons charged throwing fire, ice and skylight hit them and a few fell forming a half circle with Safiya behind it thewing stones with her sling as spears hit shields chopping off arms but they still attacked holding his shield out to help to block to spear thrusts a stone hit it in the head and the bones fell immediately

  “Go for the heads!” Falkner said Jezebel fought well like a demon bashing head blocking most hits with her shield Falkner got stabbed in the armor and he could hear grunts from William and Farmboy but the armor blocked the spears well Jezebel got hit in the arm causing her to drop her mace so she stated shield bashing they were pushed back towards there pack animals throwing fire to cover Jezebel’s retreat as Farmboy and William were poking holes in spine and heads Hector cleaving heads and arms off the tide seemed unending over two dozen were down but more streamed out of the gate. taking a stab to the shoulder wincing in pain at the blow that's going to bruise slashing spear heads off and then heads Jezebel came back bashing a skull open with her good arm the other arm in a sling everyone was at a half run. breathing hard trying to get away throwing as much fire as possible to burn them but the rain weakened his power. eventually the skeletons stopped coming out and only eight remand chasing after them after throwing enough fire and ice they stopped six remained Falkner charged with Hector and Farmboy cutting them to pieces after the last one was cut down Falkner collapsed onto the ground in exhaustion his body hurt almost out of fire and he couldn't get enough air.

  “What was that!” Falkner said after catching his breath

  “I have no idea I’ve never heard of anything like this” Hector said scared

  “Witchcraft” William whispered everyone looked at him

  “What?” Farmboy said out of breath

  “I encountered something like this twelve years ago when I had stolen my celestial iron spear” stolen? And I thought he was a devout priest

  “Safiya, can you keep a lookout?” Hector said eyes on William

  “Yes I will” Safiya replied William took a deep breath

  “When I was a bitter man and after I lost my magic for my rebellion I traveled all around Saxohdale being angry at the gods then when they died at first I was happy I came across a woman who told me that I could have magic again I could hardly believe it but it was true and I was horrified at what I used forcing the dead to bend to the user’s will I used it for about a week before I left and hid myself in the north”

  “But how could an entire kingdom be consumed in witchcraft?” Farmboy asked

  “It can’t it’s just one village and if not than I have no idea” William said

  “Candlestick man is back” Safiya said pointing to a figure riding hard straight at them Farmboy threw skylight throwing it off his mount lighting him up showing a skeletal moa and a figure clad in a black cloak that did not move when he fell and instead of eyes two purple flames imbedded in his eye sockets he charged them faster than thought possible wielding a scythe placing his helmet back on as Nyssa and Farmboy engaged.

  “A reaper” William barely choked out as Falkner joined the fray the reaper easily held the three godlings off paring slashing then the reaper screamed it hit Falkner like a wall of ice but he held firm William, Hector, and Safiya ran away screaming.

  “I can’t get in close” Falkner said throwing fire which the reaper dodged and slashed at Farmboy blocking with his spear the reaper took a hit in the hip from ice but the reaper just ignored it Jezebel came in swinging with her shield but was blocked and she received the butt of his scythe in the gut Jezebel fell down in a heap Falkner chopped off his arm the reaper span around so fast and while fending off Farmboy kicked him in the ribs the world launched as he fell on his back with cracked ribs Jezebel threw her shield the reaper dodged it as Nyssa chopped it in half but the torso fought on grabbing her leg.

  “More will come” the reaper said in a raspy voice. Finally Farmboy stabbed the reaper’s neck and the purple flames went out those the thing won’t die Falkner thought unnerved at the fight Jezebel got her shield as Falkner got to his feet with a wince he saw Hector, Safiya and William running away before stopping and walking stiffly back towards them he walked up to Hector but before he could punch him he doubled over coughing and holding his ribs as he sank to his knees you cowards why'd you run!

  “We need some sleep, I'll keep watching” Safiya said no one said anything, they were too tired and wet so he dropped the matter. They walked on trying to find anywhere they could sleep, giving up and pulling out their blankets over their heads. On the road Everyone went to sleep tired, sore, wet, scared and miserable. Falkner finally went to sleep.
