Chapter 29 Entering the Haunted House

  The Five Great Calamities' Mischief

"What a scream! I'm not a ghost." Zhen Wei furrowed his brow, but his voice was full of amusement.

I came to myself and shook off his hand, taking a step back: "Was that you on the phone just now?"

"Ah. I found you by your voice." His tone remained unchanged.

After a distance, plus the smoke, I couldn't see his expression at all. Lowering my eyelids, I asked helplessly: "What to do now? How to get out?" No matter how much I reject it, I have to wait until we get out of this ghost place before saying anything!

"I don't know. I'm also trapped here." A hint of sadness flashed in her eyes, does she really dislike me that much...

I raised my hand, reached into the fog, and looked at the vast expanse of white. I said softly, "Keep walking in one direction, you'll always be able to get out!" Before he could respond, I lifted my foot and walked forward. My shallow consciousness told me to hurry up, but my heart felt a bit uncomfortable, I really didn't understand why it was so contradictory!

Just as I took a step forward, Cheng grabbed my arm and quickly walked up to me. He stood in front of me: "Xiao... Xue. I'll go with you." I almost habitually called her Xiao Lian, but then remembered that time she said not to call her that again, so I changed my words.

"I—" had only spoken one word when he pulled me into the white fog. I tried to pull my hand back, but he held it even tighter...

Arrogant! I glared at him from behind, pouting my mouth in dissatisfaction, but a hint of sweetness welled up in my heart... Feeling annoyed with myself for reacting this way, I decided to stop thinking about it and turned my head to look elsewhere, but all I saw was smoke and more smoke... =.=

He pulled me along as we walked, both of us maintaining silence... until we emerged from the foggy area.

"Ah...... I'm finally out." Breathing in the fresh air, I cheered.

"It's not over yet. Look behind you—" Zhen smiled wickedly and pointed his finger at something behind me.

Uh. I gave him a sidelong glance, having completely forgotten that this guy was still here! Puckering my lips, I pulled my hand out of his grasp and looked back at him in confusion...

A dilapidated ancient castle, covered with thorns, moss and spider webs, shrouded in a dark atmosphere (obstructed by props). Occasionally, there are a few screams and wails coming from it, and some semi-transparent objects floating around the castle...

"Wow! This is a great image! It's just right for today's event!" After carefully checking everything behind me, I let out a loud shriek and rushed in. (This "shriek" is different from that "shriek". The nature is different.)

Staring with wide eyes at the excited girl, completely stunned. Originally thought she would be too scared to go in...

"Why is there not a single student? Won't they still be stuck in that 'paradise'...” As I walked into this ancient castle known as the haunted house, I looked around but only heard some disorganized noises. Not even half a ghost was seen, nor were any people seen, it's so dull.

"It's possible." Cheng's voice suddenly came from behind, I stopped in my tracks, he continued to say, "The area of that foggy area is quite large, we accidentally walked in the right direction, others may go elsewhere, it's hard to say, maybe there's more than one haunted house."

A faint response, I turned him down and walked in myself.

"Snow. Are we friends?" Chuan caught up with me and asked out of the blue.

I turned around and looked at him, nodding my head.

"That... protecting friends should be a matter of course, right!" He smiled and suddenly wrapped his arm around my neck, pulling me into his embrace.

Wide-eyed, I never thought he'd do this. I thought he had made up his mind already. Now it seems like... With a sudden push, I jumped out of his arms: "Is there such protection?"

"Yes, I'm protecting it like this, it feels safer this way, doesn't it?" Still with a smiling tone.

"Has he been looking for a girlfriend these past few years?" I suddenly changed the subject, gazing at him. Actually, I was overthinking it! He hadn't shown any indication of anything, but I thought he was because of that promise... Maybe he just wanted to find his childhood playmate again! Without understanding the situation, I had been rejecting and hurting him... I couldn't even understand myself anymore!

"Girlfriend? Why are you asking?" He furrowed his brow.

"Nothing. Forget it..." I waved my hand and didn't say anything else.

He opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but closed it again and followed me inside.

The further in you go, the darker the light becomes, and the wind seems to grow stronger. This corridor is like a bottomless pit, with no end in sight.

"Ah......" Suddenly, a human-like but not quite human thing appeared in front of me, hanging upside down and wailing. With only a little light, I could only see it vaguely - it seemed to have its mouth wide open with blood!

"You're late too! I've been walking for so long before you showed up, how unprofessional..." I said with a hint of impatience, my arms crossed over my chest.

He was taken aback for a moment, seemingly not expecting me to say that, but quickly regained his composure and spoke in a gloomy tone: "Third one. You need to answer my question to pass..."

Third place? So I wasn't the first one to arrive after all! Flat mouth, I gesture for it to ask.

"Guess who I am?" It suddenly gave a sly smile at me.

The corner of my mouth twitched a few times, I clenched my fist and suddenly swung it at him. Who cares who you are! What a boring and stupid question!

I knocked it down from above, stepped over its 'corpse', said a sentence: "You are a ghost!" and continued walking forward.

The student union is also too... what a haunted house! Such a boring and clichéd scene can be created, it's not even as good as organizing everyone to watch a horror movie!
