Chapter 15 Familiarity

  Volume 1 Chapter 15 A Familiar Encounter

Shaking my head, I shook off the messy thoughts in my mind and turned to take another look at that man before getting up and catching up with Yun and the others.

  In the private room.

There was no deafening music, but a light piano melody floated in the private room. However, contrary to the relaxing music, there was a strong and intense killing aura.

On two long tables, 50 cups of beer were placed respectively. I and Sakura were on both sides of the long table, staring at each other intensely at this moment.

"Alright. Are you ready? Ready. Start!" With the rain's command, Sakura and I picked up the beer on the table and gulped it down.

To see who can drink more within the allotted time. Heaven, whose bright idea was this? Such a large cup of liquor, even if I don't get drunk, I'll still burst to death...

The other three people on the side were excitedly cheering for us, shouting "Xue Xue, jiāyóu!" (Snow, come on!) and "Yīng Yīng, jiāyóu!" (Cherry, come on!) from time to time. I really couldn't take them.

I've already downed over a dozen cups, my stomach is bloated to the point of death. I glanced sideways at Sakura, her speed was slightly slower than mine, and she was about to catch up with me soon. My mind was no longer in control, as my right hand picked up a cup to gulp down, my left hand also grabbed another one...

Good grief! I'm done for! My head is getting heavier and heavier, and I'm starting to feel dizzy. Sakura's not doing any better either, her body is swaying back and forth...

"Come on! Come on! You two, give me some spirit...!" Xīn stood on the sofa, shaking the microphone in her hand.

I was sprawled on the table, my mind already in a daze, still holding a cup and pouring liquor into my mouth.

"Only 10 seconds left......" Yu looked at the watch in her hand and started counting down, "3...2...1...... Time's up!"

It ended with a crash as the cup slipped from my grasp and I collapsed to the ground, limp and helpless: "Damn it! Who in the world came up with this?!"

Yun walked over and helped me onto the sofa, laughing and saying: "Snow, this is what you drew in the lottery! No wonder we're like this!"

What, what? I gazed at the cloud with a dazed expression, she nodded with a suppressed smile and looked towards the box on that side... Oh, right. It seems like it was my turn to draw lots. Rain said we should use drawing lots to decide which activity to play... Looking at Sakura and Shou who were lying on the sofa half-dead and half-alive, and the three girls who were laughing happily. Hmph, you guys shouldn't be so smug...

With great effort, I propped myself up and mumbled a sentence "I'm going to the restroom" before stumbling towards the door.

"Snow. I'll accompany you..." Yun thought of chasing after her with a worried heart.

I waved my hand to indicate no need, then opened the door and walked out.

Stumbling to the bathroom, I washed my face with cold water, trying to make myself more alert. After the stimulation of the cold water, my head still hurt, but I was much more awake. When I returned to the private room, Sakura, who had been completely drunk just a moment before, was now playing cards with the others and looked like she hadn't been drinking at all...

"Sakura... how..." I approached her with a puzzled expression, looking left and right.

"Here. Hangover medicine." Sakura pushed my face away and tossed me a pill bottle.

"What? There's a hangover cure and you didn't say so earlier? Is it effective?" I took the bottle, poured out one pill and swallowed it.

"What do you think of me like this now?" Sakura shot a white glance over.

I leaned back on the sofa and watched them play: "By the way, who won between me and Sakura earlier?"

"You have 27 cups and Sakura has 26 and a half."

Twenty-six and a half cups? You drank half a cup less than me? That's calculated quite accurately.

I didn't respond, I closed my eyes to rest and waited for the wine to wear off... This medicine is really effective, after taking it for a while, the headache gradually subsided, and my mind became much clearer.

As I opened my eyes, they were still playing happily. Boring, what's so fun about this? I spoke out impatiently: "Sister! This is so boring! Why don't we go watch them dance instead..."

  "Look at them dancing? Alright..."

"Great, great! Watching those people dance the clown dance is much more fun than this! Let's go." Xīn said excitedly, her face full of radiant expression, completely gone was the angry and humiliated look from before.

Clown dance? Really! This group of sisters, I'm convinced...

We stood at the railing on the second floor, looking down at the decadent men and women below.

I involuntarily looked towards that corner, and the man was still sitting there, drinking... He narrowed his eyes and sized me up for a while, but I still couldn't recall where I had seen him before! Why did he seem so familiar?

"When did you get back?" A man in blue clothes at the corner of the bar asked, shaking his wine glass, to a black-clad man drinking beside him.

"A month ago..." A charming voice flowed out of the black-clothed man's mouth.

"You little brat! You've been back for a month and you're only telling me now? You deserve a beating!" The man in blue clothes pretended to be angry and punched the shoulder of the man in black clothes.

"Hah! I'm doing you a favor, letting you have a few more days with your girlfriends..." The man in black chuckled lightly.

"So I should thank you instead?" The man in blue glanced at him sideways.

"Hmm," the man in black hummed softly.

"I said, I received your call and rushed back from the UK overnight! You should at least be a little moved for me~~" The man in blue clothes looked very wronged.

"Alright, stop fooling around... have you finished with the formalities on your end?" The man in black took a sip of his drink and shifted his gaze to the dance floor.

"Alright, you should go there then? I'll accompany you!" The man in blue clothes said seriously.

"Hmm, have you been there before?" The black-clad man raised an eyebrow and shifted his gaze to the blue-clad man across from him.

"Of course! I think life from now on will be very interesting! I heard that there are several 'interesting' people there......" As he said "there", the man in blue smiled radiantly.

"Hmm..." The man in black seemed rather uninterested in the topic of "interesting".

The two continued chatting about nothing in particular... Suddenly——

"Look. Those girls on the second floor..." The man in blue clothes seemed to have found something interesting, his phoenix eyes staring at a certain place on the second floor.

"What's wrong? You saw it and went up. I'm not interested." The man in black glanced at the second floor casually.

"No. Don't you know? They are the daughters of the Han family..." The man in blue clothes said loudly, somewhat annoyed by the sarcasm in the black-clad man's words.

The thousand gold of the Han family? Undoubtedly just a few spoiled women, what's good to look at. The man in black didn't pay attention to him and continued drinking his own wine.

"That's her, the one in white clothes, she's Miss Han, the fifth daughter of the Han family. She just returned from abroad. Didn't you read today's news?" The man in blue continued to say to the silent man in black.

"I don't care! It's none of my business!"

"Hey, take a look! They're absolutely different from the girls you've met before, and they have a special identity too..." The man in blue clothes smiled slyly.

"The identity of Han's daughter is already not simple enough..." The black-clad man glanced at his good friend, and helplessly shifted his gaze to those "out-of-the-ordinary" girls.

Five girls stood at the railing on the second floor, looking down at everything below, chatting and laughing, unaware that they had already become the focus of attention for everyone.

Dressed simply yet elegantly, their exquisite features shine even more enchantingly under the light - five girls, different styles, different beauties...

The man in black was taken aback when he saw the five girls, a hint of surprise flashing across his eyes - although they were smiling now, they still gave off an air of detachment and oppression, yet were so beautiful that one couldn't help but be transfixed.

And that girl in white clothes, is she the fifth Miss of the Han family? Why does she look so familiar? Have I seen her somewhere before? Logically speaking, such an outstanding person should have left a deep impression if I had met her. Why can't I remember...

The man in black slightly furrowed his brow, and a scene suddenly flashed through his mind... A sly smile spread from the corner of his mouth, like Satan's charming smile: "Ah! So it was her..."
