The sisters managed to talk their parents into visiting their new home and world after a lot of back and forth. Lydia and Pete were quite reluctant for obvious reasons, but Sophia and Steph had persuasive arguments, so all worked out in the end.
“Where are we now?!” The group left the room with the portal to Earth and walked up a set of stairs when Lydia curiously looked around in the hallway of Sophia’s cottage. “It looks so fancy here! Like some of those high-class cottages from the past, you see all the time in furniture catalogs!"
“That’s pretty much where we are.” The tiger scratched her cheek over the oddly specific description. “This is a cottage from a farmer’s estate we repurposed as our home.”
“You all live in such a place?!”
“We’re filthy rich in this world~.” Steph gave her a thumbs-up.
“Not the words I would use, but she’s not wrong.” The older sister nodded. “Though, it was free because we got it as a reward.”
“That’s even more outrageous!”
“You do remember that we told you about the part we’re friends with an actual princess, don’t you?” The dog-girl kept staring at her.
“You expected me to believe that!?” Their mother only got louder.
“Could you stop screaming so much?” Sophia slowly shook her head while gesturing at Sari, who was still fast asleep in her arms.
“Could you stop using my daughter as an excuse to get away with all those outrageous things you two are claiming?!”
"It's refreshing to have someone close who thinks this level is already outrageous." Maya just nodded a few times while listening to their exchange.
“It looks nice, but… hmm…” Pete paused for a second. “I guess I had no idea what to actually expect from a different world, huh?” He looked slightly underwhelmed.
“You’re so cute, dad.” Steph smiled at him before walking over to the front door and opening it. “Is this a little better? Sure, it also exists on Earth, but you don’t usually live in it like this.”
“Hmm?” He walked closer to the door to see what was going on. “Huh?!”
“What’s wrong?” Curious about his reaction, Lydia moved over to him. “Is that a jungle?!” She got just as loud as him.
“She really is your sister, huh?” Maya got closer to Sophia and gently caressed Sari’s head in her arms. “You are just as impossible to wake up.”
“I’m also a good sleeper~.” Steph smiled at the cat-girl.
“Case in point.”
“Sari’s first jungle~.” Sophia left the other two behind and joined her parents at the door. “It looks quite nice, doesn’t it?”
“It’s definitely something!”
“Why are we in a jungle?” The two were quite shocked at the sight.
“Because we thought it would be cool living in the middle of a jungle~.” The tiger had an easy explanation for it.
“Fair.” Pete saw no flaw in her logic.
“Is it safe, though?” Lydia’s eyes fixated on the undergrowth in the distance. “There are lots of dangerous animals in jungles, are there not?”
“Well, there’s a pyromaniac jaguar not too far away from here, but she wouldn't hurt any of us." Thanks to her detection magic, Sophia noticed that Ari had gone to her rainforest with Aura again.
"A pyromaniac jaguar?!” Her parents raised their voices again.
“I’m joking~.” The tiger smiled at them. "I'm talking about a friend of ours who has jaguar animal features. She accidentally caused a small fire with magic before, and we like to tease her with that.”
“Okay, the other world feelings are starting to show.” Pete kept looking around. “How did the house end up here, though? It doesn’t feel like it has always been here because of the design and all that.”

“Magic!” The tiger’s expression turned smug.
"You can move buildings with magic?!” He took a wild guess.
“Pretty much the same way we used the portals, yes.”
“Wow!”
“Although, the cottage was here before the jungle.” Sophia shrugged. “Maya and our fire devil actually created it with magic.”
“Seriously?!” Pete stared at the cat-girl.
“Ahaha…” She awkwardly scratched her cheek. “Ari, the flame-loving jaguar-girl, and I helped grow it to this density." Maya gestured around in the area. “Plants grow really well if you use a little magic on them, so we used a lot instead, and it turned out like this."
“WOW!” Both parents only repeated themselves.
“Do you want to see something really otherworldly? Something that doesn't exist on Earth at all?" The tiger smiled at her father. “There’s quite a beautiful place we could go to that is unlike anything on Earth.”
“Is it dangerous?” Lydia was still unsure about what to do with this place.
“Not at all.” She shook her head. “Well, you should watch where you go because there are some steep… drops, but they’re very visible, so it’s not an issue at all.”
"Okay?" Her mother looked slightly confused, but she didn’t seem against it.
“What do you want to show us?” Pete was already interested.
“Where’s the fun in telling you?” Saying so, the tiger opened yet another portal and made it see-through to give her father a sneak peek.
“Very pink!” He had little else to say at first once he spotted the massive cherry blossom tree. “Those trees also do exist on Earth, though.” Pete wasn’t feeling the promised otherworldly part just yet.
“You’re just too hasty~.” Sophia lightly shook her head. “The portal only shows so much because of its size, and the pink place gets more impressive the further you look, so we have to head over there for you to understand.”
“I’m still not a fan of those gate things, but now you’ve got me curious.” Pete wanted to see more.
“Yes, they are quite unsettling.” Lydia felt the same. “Still, I like cherry blossoms a whole lot, so I’d like to see what’s supposed to be special about them.”
“Alright, let’s go!” Steph quickly grabbed the hands of her mother and father and dragged them through the portal before they had a chance to change their minds once again.
----------------
“Wow!” Arriving on one of the floating islands of Sophia’s cherry blossom forest, Lydia’s and Pete’s eyes were glued to the massive and magnificent weeping cherry without even noticing their surroundings just yet.
“That’s such a lovely tree!” Her mother liked it a whole lot.
“It has such an intense and rich color!” Pete was also fascinated by it.
“Yes, it’s indeed a nice tree, but how about you take a look around?” The tiger tried to get their attention. “The cherry is not the reason I brought you here, after all.”
“Hmm? H-HUH?!” The moment they noticed their surroundings, the two, once more, got loud again.
“Why are there islands floating in the sky?!”
“Why is the sky bright white?!” The two didn’t know what to focus on first.
“Welcome to a different world." Sophia went for a highly generic answer. “The laws of nature and physics are superseded by the laws of magic here.”
“Hah." Her father scratched his cheek as he looked around. "I guess I got what I asked for, huh? This is definitely not possible on Earth!”
“I can’t believe we’re actually in a different world!” It only now began to feel real to Lydia.
“Hehe.” The tiger was glad their parents were taking it relatively well.
“Still, this all-white sky is quite something.” Pete kept looking at their bright surroundings. “As fascinating as it looks, it’s rather hard on the eyes.”
“True!” Lydia nodded a few times. “I don’t think I could permanently live in a world that constantly attacks your eyes like that.”
“It’s a work in progress, okay?!” Sophia started pouting over how everyone, now even including her own parents, attacked her domain for not having a regular sky. “There already are places that look normal and are pleasing to the eyes, it’s just a lot of work!”
“Hmm?” The two looked confused.
“This world is not yet finished.” Steph took over for her grumpy sister. “This is our playground where we can go wild with magic. It’s a place where all of Sophia’s portals end up in. It is not the other world where she got transported to when she went missing last year. This is also not the world where Maya is from, either.” She looked at the cat-girl at the end, who nodded in return.
“Again, I won’t even pretend to understand it.”
“Yeah.” Lydia and Pete got overwhelmed again.
“It’s fine~.” The dog-girl smiled at them. "It's not like we're in a rush to explain everything, is there? This place is a little complicated, to say the least.”
“Not to mention that everyone in our group is bad at explaining things.” Maya just had to add that.
“That is also very true.” Steph had nothing to add there.
“Should we take a small break?” Once Sophia finished pouting, she faced her parents again. “To let it sink in a bit and all that.”
“Please.” Her parents were big fans of the suggestion.
“We also wanted to show Maya’s parents this place because it’s where we are the most when we aren’t traveling." The tiger smiled at her cat. "It might be time to get them so we all can have a nice afternoon chat together."
“Good idea!” Maya lightly clapped her hands.
“I’d love to meet them.” Lydia was also on board.
“Alright!” Sophia then opened a portal before walking over to her mother and reluctantly handing Sari back to her. She couldn’t take her to Maya’s parents, after all. For possible misunderstandings alone already. “Steph, could you keep them company in the cottage while Maya and I go and get her parents?”
“Sure!” The dog-girl did a cute salute before taking her parents through the portal.
Afterward, the couple went to the capital to tell the cat-girl’s parents about their plan and bring them over to the cottage, as well.
