Blind date?
On Saturday, Chen Ran was still lying comfortably in bed when he heard his phone ringing non-stop. He vaguely reached for the phone and before it even touched his ear, Zhou Ting's explosive voice came through, "Chen Ran, hurry up and get out of bed!"
"Huh?" Chen Ran furrowed his brow and looked at his watch. It was only 8:30, what's wrong with Zhou Ting?
"You forgot? You're supposed to come home with me for dinner today." Zhou Ting said somewhat impatiently, knowing that Chen Ran was unreliable, luckily she had called ahead of time to ask.
Chen Yan helplessly placed his hand on his forehead, his eyes half-closed in a daze, "Miss, it's only 8:30 now, do you have to get up so early just to go to my place for dinner?"
"I just called to remind you in advance, remember to come to my house at 11 o'clock to pick me up, otherwise Uncle and Aunt will be suspicious." Zhou Ting said and hung up the phone without waiting for Chen Ran's response.
Chen Ran listened to the buzzing sound in his ear, feeling somewhat helpless as he continued lying down on the bed. Zhou Ting had called early in the morning and hung up before they could even finish talking.
Su Qiao had woken up early in the next room, but didn't want to leave his bed. He naturally heard Chen Ran and Zhou Ting's conversation. Suddenly, he felt a sour feeling in his heart. Chen Ran wanted to take Zhou Ting home for dinner. It seemed they were indeed a match made in heaven. But why was Chen Ran being so good to him?
Su Qiao rolled around on the bed, venting his discontent. For some reason, he didn't want to see Chen Ran's appearance when she went out. He thought that if he just stayed in bed, he wouldn't know that Chen Ran had left.
Chen Ran was woken up by Zhou Ting and couldn't fall asleep again. It's hard to get a good rest on weekends. He slowly got out of bed, found Su Qiao still sleeping, and went to buy breakfast.
At half past ten, Su Qiao had not gotten out of bed yet. Chen Ran kept staring in the direction of the stairs but did not see Su Qiao come out. His heart tightened with worry that Su Qiao was ill and he quickly went upstairs towards Su Qiao's room.
Su Qiao was originally staring at the ceiling with his eyes open, but suddenly heard footsteps getting closer and closer, so he quickly closed his eyes to pretend to sleep. Wasn't Chen Ran supposed to go home for dinner with Zhou Ting? Why hadn't they left yet? He felt a faint sense of anticipation in his heart, Su Qiao didn't know what he was expecting, but he just felt a little excited.
Chen Ran walked to Su Qiao's bedside, somewhat worried, and reached out to touch Su Qiao's forehead. After confirming that she didn't have a fever, he felt relieved. Looking at Su Qiao, who even frowned while sleeping, Chen Ran couldn't help but lean down and gently kiss her forehead.
Su Qiao's heartbeat accelerated, Chen Ran actually kissed his forehead, although this was not the first intimate contact between the two, Su Qiao still felt a little shy, and his long eyelashes trembled.
Chen Ran, who had been staring at Su Qiao, naturally noticed Su Qiao's subtle movement. Unaware of what he was thinking, Chen Ran's smile at the corner of his mouth grew wider. He leaned in close to Su Qiao's ear again and said softly: "Breakfast has already been bought and is on the table, remember to eat it. Lunch will be sent over by someone I've arranged. Today I'm going to have dinner with my mom and Zhou Ting, so you don't need to wait for me."
Su Qiao's eyelashes fluttered even more fiercely, but he endured it and didn't open his eyes. His heart felt stuffy and uncomfortable. Su Qiao couldn't help but despise himself - Chen Ran and Zhou Ting were clearly a good match, so why did he feel suffocated whenever he thought about it?
Chen Ran knew Su Qiao didn't want to get up, and he didn't say anything else. He took a deep look at Su Qiao and turned around to leave. If he didn't go now, Zhou Ting would probably come to urge him again.
When he heard the footsteps leaving, Su Qiao finally opened his eyes and stared at the empty doorway. He felt a little empty in his heart too. Since Chen Ran was obviously about to be with Zhou Ting, why did she still treat him so gently?
His eyes seemed to have moistened, Su Qiao hurriedly looked up at the ceiling and held back the tears that were about to burst out. How could a big man like him become so fond of crying after knowing Chen?
It wasn't easy to convince myself to get out of bed, but after Su Qiao went downstairs, she saw the breakfast Chen Ran had left on the table. Su Qiao touched the soy milk with her hand and it was still warm. It felt like Chen Ran hadn't left, as if he was still here.
A person eating breakfast is actually a very ordinary thing. In the past, he and Chen Ran were not consistent in their wake-up times, so they didn't have breakfast together. But today, why did he feel like his throat was blocked, even his favorite soy milk and fried dough sticks were hard to swallow?
Chen Ran arrived at Zhou Ting's building at 11 o'clock sharp, only to see Zhou Ting scolding and grumbling as she walked down from upstairs. Chen Ran's mouth twitched, wondering who was so unlucky to have offended this lady again.
"Chen Ran, I'm telling you, a weird guy just moved in next door and he's always hugging his guitar and singing everywhere. It sounds awful! I told him to stop but he scolded me instead, it's infuriating!" Zhou Ting started talking non-stop as soon as she got on the car, she was really angry, and since she rarely talks about these things, now that she finally caught Chen Ran, she had to vent out her frustrations.
"Oh, who's so reckless and dared to provoke our Big Sister Zhou?" Chen Ran's tone was full of teasing. In his opinion, there were not many people who could make Zhou Ting angry, but he became a little interested in this neighbor mentioned by Zhou Ting.
Zhou Ting slapped Chen Ran hard and said viciously: "Don't think I don't know what you're thinking in your heart, we are friends, who are you helping?"
"Of course I'm helping you out. Didn't you say we're friends?" Chen Ran continued, following Zhou Ting's words, leaving her speechless.
"It's about time we knew we were mismatched, never mind that now. Did you get the Suqiao?" Zhou Ting's eyes sparkled again, as she really liked Suqiao and didn't want Chen Ran to miss out on him.
Chen Ran covered his forehead with his hand and took a deep breath, "No, but I know he already has me in his heart." Actually, he wasn't very sure either, but Su Qiao's behavior this morning gave him some idea.
"Really? Let's see how many people can make Mr. Chen lose face, I want to learn from Su Qiao." Zhou Ting pretended to applaud and then leaned back in her chair with a somewhat bored expression. "When are we going to clear things up with Uncle and Aunt?"
"What's going on?" Chen Ran furrowed his brow, a look of puzzlement flashing across his handsome face. What did he and Zhou Ting have to tell his parents that he didn't know about?
"You ungrateful man, if it weren't for my existence, you would have gone on countless blind dates by now." Zhou Ting was somewhat resentful, knowing that Chen Ran's parents had always considered her their future daughter-in-law.
"How could I have forgotten this?" Chen Ran sighed in frustration, "I was wondering why they hadn't arranged any blind dates for me recently. It turns out it's because of you." His parents still didn't know that he liked men. If one day he were to bring Su Qiao back home, would his parents break his legs?
"Of course, so you have to help me find a handsome guy to be my husband in the future, got it?" Zhou Ting said with a smirk, winking at Chen Ran.
