Chapter 25: Sisters (Part 1)
Early autumn, the old house of the Gu family has a deep courtyard wall.
The lush green lawn was covered with golden fallen leaves, exuding a strong autumn atmosphere. A pigeon with half its feathers cut off strolled lazily around. In the central pond of the garden, a fountain jet danced happily. The neatly trimmed shrubs and trees hid European-style houses with different architectural styles behind them. The entire residential area was like an "utopia" in the midst of the bustling city.
Before the wind rises, Gu Huanli always likes to sit in the garden and gaze up at the sky above her head. Although it is equally clear and blue as when she gazes out from the windowsill, it seems even more vast.
However, Gu Huanli disliked the heavy iron gate at the entrance of the Gu residence, just like the marble statue of a goddess she often passed by, which was cold and uninteresting.
Since moving out of the Chu residence, the Gu siblings stayed in a hotel for about three or four nights before directly moving back to their old home. Originally, there were people who took care of it all year round, and everything they needed was already complete, so Fang Bo, as the manager, welcomed the master of the Gu mansion with great joy, although they were so young and inexperienced.
If truth be told, Gu Huanli preferred to follow her brother's attendant, He Muyang. At least he was much better than that clumsy angel. Although as a home tutor the clumsy angel was fully competent, but as a person, an ordinary person with a beautiful face and rich knowledge, Cassidy the clumsy angel was really too fond of preaching, always putting on a great face of loving the world.
By the way, compared to the dazzling all-white, Gu Huanli preferred black that could hide herself. In short, she was a thousand dissatisfied and ten thousand unhappy with her private family classroom. However, whether it was a thousand or ten thousand, Cassidy was invited by her brother, used or not used, had to be used.
As for what the clumsy angel Cassidy said about the soul guardian, it was directly ignored by her after Gu Huanli verified that he had lost most of his powers.
Cassidy was naturally aware of her disdain and discontent, but he still acted according to his own rules and lived. For thousands of years, it had been like this; would he change for one mistake, a stupid woman who should have been punished in hell?
Just kidding!
If it were not for God's will, if it were not for the command of the great archangel, he, as a holy angel, would not have fallen into the mortal world.
And so, two people who were fundamentally incompatible became a pair of teacher and student due to some inexplicable reason. As it happens, Cassidy, as the elder, could be classified as a polymath, well-versed in both Eastern and Western knowledge, with expertise in music, chess, literature, and painting; however, Gu Huanli would often say privately that this was just the benefit of living a long life. As it happens, Gu Huanli, as the student, could be classified as clever and quick-witted, humble and eager to learn, diligent and hardworking; however, Cassidy would often mutter to himself in private, "This foolish woman probably has social anxiety disorder again!"
Anyway, it's already like this, even if there are more dissatisfaction, still have to continue. However, out of the conscience as a home tutor, at least in Cassidy's view, that is the conscience. He told Gu Tianxi that Gu Huanli now has enough knowledge to skip grades or even go straight to middle school. But the result of doing so would inevitably push her into an even more isolated situation. So, before going abroad for further studies, let her return to school and experience the collective life that ordinary primary school students should have.
Gu Tianxi's eyebrows furrowed slightly as he listened to Cassidy's words, but in that instant, he also made up his mind. After all, he didn't want his sister to live a lonely life in a world where only he existed.
The next morning, when Gu Huanlin opened his eyes drowsily in his brother's arms, he said faintly, "Little Lian, I've already helped you with the re-enrollment procedures. From today on, you can go back to Cijiyu Primary School for classes."
Gu Huanli hesitated for a moment, but then the smile on her face suddenly magnified several times, as if an ancient curse had been lifted. She nodded, "Okay."
This was within Gu Tianxi's expectations, but the reason was beyond his expectations. Gu Mengyu really couldn't stand Cassidy's lectures (brainwashing), so it was better to go to school and sit there in a daze.
The music room of Ciji Primary School is Gu Huanli's favorite place. Because this is a colorful glass world, which can only be seen in beautiful fairy tales or solemn churches. The fine light passes through the colorful and dazzling stained glass flower windows from various directions, casting clear and mysterious shadows, warm and humid.
Faded memories of the past gradually became vivid and warm in silence, just like the lines on the palm of one's hand. Gu Huanli supported her chin with both hands, dazedly thinking that only children had the right to dream, could snuggle up on God's knees and sweetly dream, smiling like a flower. However, she would never tell Cassidy about this.
The classmates in the class were full of curiosity about Gu Huanli's return to the class after a month of school. Even though their head teacher, Su Lianyu, explained that Gu Huanli was on sick leave for recuperation, they still couldn't help but gather around him during lunchtime, holding their bento boxes and asking him questions in a noisy manner.
Gu Huanli explained in a soft and gentle voice, her tone neither fast nor slow. At this moment, a tall and slender girl walked towards the direction where the crowd was gathering with an arrogant expression, followed by two girls of similar age, all with an air of superiority.
The crowd that was chatting gave way to a path, and the tall girl walked directly in front of Gu Huanli, stopping in her tracks. "Hey, I heard your hand is crippled?"
Gu Huanli tilted her head to look at her, thought for a while, and really couldn't remember who this young lady was, so she lowered her head and poked at the food in her bento box with chopsticks, too lazy to say a word.
Unfortunately, she thought silence was golden, but others had a lot to say.
"If it weren't for the teacher's favoritism, could you still be a soloist in the piano club with your skills? Are you afraid of going abroad this time? Well, it's good that you're afraid to show off your mediocre level, and thus spared our Cijin Primary School from a possible embarrassment."
"Oh." Gu Huanli replied with just one sentence, but her tone was too light and her voice was too soft, which directly made the other person take it as sarcasm and provocation. So, the two girls who were watching from the side pulled her up, planning to drag her to a corner to have a good talk.
To be honest, her wound has just healed and she really doesn't want to get hurt again.
Gu Huanli looked around, and perhaps there was a hint of sympathy in the eyes of the crowd, but most people still had an onlooker's attitude, without any intention of helping. Except for one person, yes, except for Mo Tianbo who pushed through the crowd with a difficult expression, preparing to step forward from behind the crowd.
Wait, she seems to be trying to remember something...
Oh, I see!
Gu Huanli smiled lightly, calmly breaking free from the two people who were holding her back. Her clear eyes met those of the tall girl, "In the past, I've always wondered why you had such great hostility towards me, but actually, what you're really concerned about is Mo Tianbao, right?"
"You! What are you talking about!" The tall girl's face suddenly turned red, and she quickly completed the transformation from shyness to indignation. She shouted loudly, "What does it have to do with Mo Xiaodi? You're not allowed to frame our pure teacher-disciple relationship."
Uh...
It's not that black, but after being said by senior sister, it seems to be getting more and more black! She blinked her eyes, with a face of innocence, "I didn't say that senior sister and Mo Tianbo have an impure or improper relationship, did I? Besides, is it wrong to care about someone? We can care about our parents, teachers, classmates, so why, in senior sister's opinion, caring about junior brother is impure?"
After Gu Huanli finished speaking, the people around her were first stunned and then looked at the tall girl with profound meaning, but their faces showed that kind of gossiping expression, such as "XXX likes XXX", "XXX wants to marry XXX to be a bride" and so on.
A rabbit, when anxious, will even bite people; how can it be otherwise with humans? The tall girl glared fiercely at Gu Huan Lian, her hands on her hips and a defiant attitude, "I just care about him, what's wrong with that! I just like him, what's wrong with that! When I grow up, I'm going to marry him, what's wrong with that!"
"Wow!" The crowd couldn't help but exclaim in surprise at the frightening confession.
"Although the teacher likes you classmates to be friendly with each other, Lin Ruoying, isn't it too early for you to consider getting married?" The headmaster said from behind the crowd.
"Ah——" The onlookers hastily dispersed, leaving behind Lin Ruoyin with a pale face, Mo Tianbo with an embarrassed expression, and Gu Huanli who was trying to appear profound while struggling to hold back her smile.
The headmaster naturally knew that there would always be some rivalry among students, as long as it didn't escalate into malicious violent incidents. In fact, the school would only pay attention to it rather than intervene forcefully. After all, these children were from influential families and most of them would take over their family businesses in the future. If they couldn't even handle small disputes, how could they manage the heavy workload of a company?
However, the fact that Gu Huanli was kidnapped was known to her as the head of the teaching department. The danger occurred right at the school gate, and the security guard did not discover in time that Gu Huanli had left alone without a vehicle to pick her up, which is already a serious mistake for the school. Although the Gu family did not pursue the school's responsibility, but only severely warned the board of directors to improve the management work of the campus, however, every person in the school still has lingering fears until now.
Fortunately...
The instructor walked up to Gu Huanli and gently patted her head, saying softly, "Your body has just recovered, so it's best not to overexert yourself. If you feel unwell, be sure to tell your class teacher in time, okay?"
"Good." Gu Huanli nodded heavily and said with a smile.
"The lunch break is precious," said the instructor to Mo Tianbo and Lin Ruoyin. "In order to have a good spirit for this afternoon's class, you both go back to your respective classrooms' restrooms to take a nap. It's getting cold, don't sleep outside, lest you catch a cold."
