[Kim POV]

  The next round of tests the Doctor put me through were more annoying than the basic check-up like st time. First, she asked me to transform like yesterday and kept shocking me unless I did, but I couldn't do it on command.

  "Just do what you did yesterday."(Doctor)

  "I'm trying, but it isn't like I know what I did!"(Kim)

  "Just get angry."(Doctor)

  "Stop Shocking me and give me a sec."(Kim)

  We know my anger triggered my transformation, but it was hard to get to the same level of rage as that. I had calmed down a lot after letting out my frustration. Knowing I can see my family in a month and for some reason that dream I had is keeping me calm.

  "Does she have to transform? She is already adapting."(Gale)

  "HUH?"(Doctor and Kim)

  We look at Gale in confusion. I'm adapting, but I don't look any different and I don't have my cws.

  "I mean she already has better reflexes than yesterday. You saw when she hit Brick"(Gale)

  "He was just soo slow though."(Kim)

  "Yes, but you have never been in a fight until yesterday and he used his powers to."(Gale)

  "That was something anyone could have done. He was too angry to properly anticipate anything."(Kim)

  "No, it wasn't. He was pulling you in with an unknown force that you hadn't seen before, but instead of panicking you picked the best action to avoid it."(Gale)

  "Ok, say your right. There are some things that are still bothering me."(Kim)

  "Like what?"(Gale)

  "Why was he treating the cocoon like it was a prize."(Kim)

  "To him, it was. Some of the espers have been trying to break into it to prove their power, and others have been using it to increase theirs."(Gale)

  "I'm a little scared to ask how it increases their power"(Kim)

  Before Gale could ease me into the answer the Doctor shouts it.

  "They eat a part of it."(Doctor)

  My eyes shot over to her at that answer.

  "Why!"(Kim)

  "It was basically solidified Shift energy."(Doctor)

  "That can't be safe."(Kim)

  I said full of disappointment at how stupid it sounded.

  "In rge doses no, even in small ones you could get addicted so it was banned, but it looks like Brick was either using or selling. I hope it was the first so we don't have to deal with people going through withdrawals."(Doctor)

  "I can't imagine him wanting to be one-upped by anyone, so I guess using."(Gale)

  "Am I going to go through withdrawals?"(Kim)

  "I don't think so because you probably would have died with the amount of exposure you had while inside."(Doctor)

  With that, I start to feel my anxiety shoot up.

  "Did you have to say it like that Doctor!"(Gale)

  "Listen I would never let my best test subject kick the bucket on my watch!"(Doctor)

  "They are a person or do you see everyone as a test subject!"(Gale)

  "No, I do not, just most people!"(Doctor)

  "Ok name one person you don't see as a test subject!"(Gale)

  "You!"(Doctor)

  ...(Gale)

  ...(Doctor)

  When she said that her face went as red as her hair and the room went silent. Gale's face wasn't doing much better than the Doctor's.

  "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *wheeze* HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA *wheeze*"(Kim)

  I just couldn't stop myself from ughing at the dispy my anxiety was long gone. It was hard to keep a straight face with them acting like teenage girls with a crush.

  "Stop ughing at us!"(Gale and Doctor)

  That only brought about another ughing fit that only stopped because the Doctor took a blood sample without asking again.

  "I said to ask before you do that."(Kim)

  "Gale could you leave us."(Doctor)

  "Ok, but why."(Gale)

  They spoke with a little more reservation than before.

  "I want to see if I can activate her esper ability and I want you to make sure no one interrupts."(Doctor)

  "Alright."(Gale)

  With that, he left the b and closed the door. The Doctor then pulled out a gss orb and set it down on the table.

  "Put your hand on this"(Doctor)

  "Ok like this."(Kim)

  As I put my hands on the ball it started to glow blue and got colder.

  "Yes that's perfect."(Doctor)

  I held on for a little bit longer before she spoke to me

  "Kim."(Doctor)

  "Yes!"(Kim)

  I responded surprised it was the first time she said my name.

  "How do you ask someone on a date?"(Doctor)

  She asked unsure. Leaving me wondering what happened to the mad Doctor I've come to know in the st day and a half.

  "Sorry to tell you I was chronically single for all my life."(Kim)

  "Oh, sorry to bring it up."(Doctor)

  "Don't worry about it, but if your worry about asking Gale out just do it. I don't think he will say no."(Kim)

  "But what if you're wrong!"(Doctor)

  She shouted at me while her eyes started to water.

  "Then he says no or are you going to wait for someone else to ask him out?"(Kim)

  "NO!"(Doctor)

  I couldn't help myself from smiling at her reactions.

  "So you're going to ask him out."(Kim)

  I can see her thinking it over in her head full of anxiety before answering.

  "I guess, but for someone who hasn't been in a retionship you seem to know what to say."(Doctor)

  "My brother and friend came to me to vent a lot, by the way, how long do I have to keep my hands on this."(Kim)

  "Sorry you can let go now. You mentioned your family before, but you never were worried about your friend. Why?"(Doctor)

  "Well he's gone already."(Kim)

  I said slightly dejected and tried to put on my best smile. The Doctor looked away probably feeling bad for bringing it up.

  "Sorry."(Doctor)

  "It's fine it was a while ago. So what is my power."(Kim)

  I quickly try to change the subject before it gets too sad.

  "let me see?"(Doctor)

  She takes the orb and examines it for a minute before writing something down.

  "This is only the preliminary test, but it looks like it has something to do with ice or cold."(Doctor)

  "Cool."(Kim)

  As soon as I said that I got a death gre from the Doctor.

  "Was the pun necessary."(Doctor)

  "I didn't think about it when I said it."(Kim)

  I really didn't, but I would say it again in a heartbeat.

  "Well that is all we can do about that for now. Esper abilities need to be developed slowly for safety."(Doctor)

  "Can't I just adapt to it like with fighting"(Kim)

  "No, if it is something too dangerous which in your case is likely we can't rush."(Doctor)

  "Fine so what do we do now?"(Kim)

  "We get breakfast."(Doctor)

  "Ok by the way, when are you going to ask Gale out."(Kim)

  Her face turned red again at that comment.

  "Can we just go!?"(Doctor)

  "Fine"(Kim)

  And with that brief teasing, we get Gale and head off to the cafeteria.

  [Brick POV]

  HOW DARE THEY DO THAT TO ME I WILL MAKE THEM PAY FOR THIS! I WILL MAKE THEM SUFFER! I pull out a vial with a shard in it. Only one left damnit how will I get my revenge with only this? Wait that girl is new and didn't use her ability so she must have got lucky. If there was an accident she couldn't defend herself from a monster.

  "hehe hahahahaha!"(Brick)

  I have to be quick it will take 10 days at least for them to unlock her power. Now how will I do this?
